Our approach
The Workhorse Behind Your Investment Strategy
How we invest
Focusing on rigorous investment criteria
We invest exclusively in top-quartile private equity funds, selected through a disciplined manager selection process.
Securing access to top-quartile funds
Through deep manager relationships, we access top-quartile funds often unavailable to private capital.
Conducting thorough due diligence
We conduct institutional-grade due diligence on every underlying fund before committing capital.
Validating with our internal advisors and IC
Our IC is composed of our own investors, ensuring full alignment and maximum transparency in every decision.
Ensuring steady deployment over time
We invest progressively over time to reduce timing risk and build resilient portfolios.
Our story
Top Tier Access was founded by Sam Desimpel, who has been active in Private Equity since 2009, initially through his family office. In 2012, he launched Princip.al, a private network for family offices. Following the suggestion of several Belgian family offices, Sam and his team pivoted the business in 2020 to focus on a Private Equity fund-of-funds, leveraging the extensive networks built over the years.

Our pillars of Succes
Operational PE Managers
Active ownership is a key driver of returns in private equity and central to the Top Tier Access investment thesis.
Long-Term Thinking
Attempting to time the market rarely works. We believe in steady and continuous deployment to build a long-term private equity program.
No Overdiversification
Excessive diversification often merely averages down your results. We focus on selecting only the top-tier managers available—and there aren’t many of them.
Balanced Portfolio
A balanced portfolio construction lies at the heart of every Top Tier Access Fund of Funds.
Low Fees
High fees erode returns. We do not charge carried interest, only reasonable management fees.
Optimal Fiscal Structure
Smart structuring to reduce administrative and cost burdens for investors, including both individuals and corporate investors.
